Register today for the upcoming webcast, Developing Leadership in Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), from the Society of Critical Care Medicine. This webcast will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. Central Time.
In an ever-changing healthcare environment, an increasing amount of nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), collectively referred to as APPs, are assuming leadership roles both on clinical teams and in organizations. However, few have been formally prepared through leadership training for the new and expanded responsibilities that come with these positions.
As a result, many APPs are challenged by tasks such as building teams, developing talent, managing change, transforming care, communicating effectively, building a business case, and managing relationships and partnerships. During this webcast, Tara A. Collins, ACNP, CRNP, Nurse Practitioner and Director, AP, of Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center, and Ryan M. O’Gowan, MBA, PA-C, FCCM, of Saint Vincent Hospital, will introduce some foundational leadership principles and discuss leadership styles, strategies, and competencies.
- Describe differences in leadership styles and define qualities, traits, and competencies of an effective leader
- Discuss the language and skills required to effectively communicate with administrators and hospital executives
- Understand the basic principles of change and change management
This 60-minute webcast will be moderated by Corinna Sicoutris, ACNP, MSN, FCCM. The registration fee for this webcast is $30 for members ($40 for nonmembers).
