Explore the basic management principles common to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) programs for both adult and pediatric patients with the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s (SCCM) ECMO Management course.
This intense two-day simulation course will provide a comprehensive overview of ECMO programs. Participants will rotate through lectures and simulation scenarios. Each simulation group will have a maximum ratio of six participants to one facilitator.
- Identify the different components of the ECMO circuit and diagnose equipment malfunction
- Determine the optimal ECMO settings in diseases commonly treated by ECMO
- Recognize and manage the most common ECMO emergencies
This course will be held February 25 and 26, 2016, in Tampa, Florida, USA, following the 45th Critical Care Congress in Orlando, Florida, USA. Transportation between Orlando and Tampa will be available for participants attending both events, but please note that bus transportation back to Orlando will be limited.
