Corticosteroid Insufficiency Guidelines Update

The Society of Critical Care Medicine recently released guidelines addressing the diagnosis and management of critical illness-related corticosteroid insufficiency (CIRCI) in critically ill patients.

Titled “Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Critical Illness-Related Corticosteroid Insufficiency (CIRCI) in Critically Ill Patients (Part I),” the article was published in the December 2017 issue of Critical Care Medicine.

This update of the 2008 consensus statement is available for free download and includes recommendations for management of CIRCI in patients with specific critical illnesses and conditions in which CIRCI may occur as a complication.
